So, the symposium I have been working for is coming up in about a month. We are working as hard as we can on getting everybody in the parallel sessions of their choice and are arranging the last transfers between the symposium venue and workshop locations.
The programme is great, it ranges from interesting and exciting plenary lectures about everything conservation related to wonderful parallel sessions and workshops on Risks, Decision Making, Rethinking conservation education and so on.
Besides the administrative tasks I am preparing a short presentation on Access to Contemporary Art Conservation. Questions like How can museum visitors participate in the conservation process, or what can museums do to entertain and teach their visitors about conservation issues, will be the central focus of my talk.
I am still looking for interesting examples of participatory projects in art museums, so if my readers have suggestions please let me know!
